Messe Stuttgart Expands Its Portfolio
New trade fair concepts: (1) artificial intelligence; (2) trade fair for the tent industry
February 16, 2022 — Although Messe Stuttgart is currently not open to visitors, work on new event formats continues to progress behind the scenes. “At Messe Stuttgart, we strive to promote the economy. This includes developing a feel for new topics and identifying potential,” affirms Roland Bleinroth, President of Messe Stuttgart. “That is why we are always open to new and innovative markets as well as continually work on fresh new products and formats to implement on our venue.”
AI FUSION: New business event on artificial intelligence
One brazen future topic is that of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Artificial Intelligence, or AI, refers to the transfer of human learning and thinking to computers. This topic is not only at the top of the agenda in the European Union. The new slogan “AI Made in Germany” underlines the goal to transform Germany into a leading location for developing and applying AI technologies. Baden-Württemberg is likewise pursuing clearly defined objectives with “AI made in BW.” To develop and promote this new pioneering spirit, there needs to be physical space in which to exchange ideas covering the diverse AI landscape. Messe Stuttgart will offer just this in future with the AI FUSION event – a brand-new format scheduled for the first time from 29 to 30 Sep 2022. With innovative participation models and an exciting event character, AI FUSION breaks new ground as well as benefits from a strong partner network.
One such partner is the Tübingen AI Center. One of five national competence centers for AI research and embedded in an ecosystem of regional and international initiatives, the Tübingen AI Center is shaping and discussing the next generation of machine intelligence. The objective is to develop more robust, efficient, and responsible systems so that they can be leveraged on a commercial level and deployed for the benefit of society. The Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Tourism in Baden-Württemberg is a partner backing AI FUSION and is hosting the Start-up BW Summit, which will be held simultaneously on the fair grounds. The Start-up BW Summit is the international highlight event for start-ups in Baden-Württemberg, and scale-up nation Israel has already confirmed it will participate as one of this year’s partner countries. AI FUSION also targets an international audience from the research, education and start-up communities as well as SMEs and large companies. The format strives to make AI more tangible by offering a platform for hands-on AI learning, best practices on a live stage and a high-quality science conference.
To this end, Messe Stuttgart is in close contact with numerous interested parties, including the Heilbronn Consortium, which impressed with its concept in the state-funded competition “Innovation Park AI Baden-Württemberg” and will present its offer and vision for the AI ecosystem in Heilbronn as scheduled. Also involved are the KI-Fortschrittszentrum, Cyber Valley, Women in AI & Robotics, Women in Voice Germany, Steinbeis Europa Zentrum, Platform for Artificial Intelligence, KI Park e.V. and the AI trainers from the SME Digital Network of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection. Messe Stuttgart is also talking with companies such as LBBW, targens GmbH, Boehringer Ingelheim, Ernst & Young and Technologiepark Heidelberg GmbH, which is involved in running AI programs “KI-Lab Kurpfalz” and “KI-Garage”. New trade fair for the tent industry
Messe Stuttgart is spearheading yet another hot topic with International Tents and Structures (ITAS). From 29 Nov – 1 Dec 2022, companies involved in making tents and flexible structures will present their portfolio in Stuttgart. The newly initiated trade fair gives the industry a unique platform on which to present the wide range of possibilities available for tents, flexible structures, accessories and services. Companies showcasing products here are leading solution providers for numerous industries and can therefore be included among the “hidden champions” spanning the globe.
Not only storage tents offering extra space are in high demand, but also versatile solutions that can be quickly converted into critical emergency accommodations on the fly. Event tents not only must have the right size, but also meet an array of stringent safety standards while offering customization options. In addition, modern tents encompass not only scaffolding and tarpaulin as holistic solutions are currently also on the rise, including flooring, heaters and complex ventilation systems through to high-quality interiors.
